Song of the Day: King Crimson - Epitaph

Quote of the Day: “My goal is simple. It is a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all.” ~Stephen Hawking

Looking forward to thanksgiving, should be a good time. I'm heading down south (even further) to visit a friend in North Carolina, so I'm looking forward to that. It's always good to get out of this small town and get back to places where, you know, there's actually people. I don't miss living in a city but sometimes it's nice to visit one so I'm looking forward to it. I'm about done with work, was just finishing up and made this picture. I lol'd.

First post in a while

Song of the Day
Bob Marley - Easy Skanking

Fact of the Day
The White Zombie song "More Human Than Human" is a reference to the movie Blade Runner.

Quote of the Day
"I'm doin' good. I got a place, a job, a car, and my dick. Life's not bad at all. AND I got my guitar"

Hello everybody, or nobody, whatever. Bored today and thought I'd dust off the 'ol blog and write a little post. Been busy lately, that's me working last weekend doing a cleanup, and I did the same thing today. Furthermore I was outta town Monday through Wednesday at a conference and have been in the office for two busy days. I'm still working, finding a new job, and generally hanging out in the mountains. Dunno what to do yet, but I'll figure it out in time I'm sure. I watched this movie called "City of God" today and I gotta say it was pretty cool. Staying down here for Spanksgiving this Thursday, I'll probably just hitch on with someone that knows how to cook. Or eat a frozen pizza. What the fuck ever. Either way I'll be eating, and that's good enough for me! Still figuring out what to do tonight, probably holla at some peeps and generally chill. Gotta run up to the store though, later world.

Good morning blogosphere!

Howdy y'awl!

Back in the blogosphere for no particular reason. I've been working, and as day goes into night goes into day and I drive back and forth to work, time becomes obsolete as I continue to get older. The pig roast this weekend was SWEET with like 10 bands and a whole mess of food. I came back with sore dancing feet & a full belly. Random picture is intact, as always.

R.I.P. Kurt Vonnegut & Kilgore Trout

My favorite novelist, the novelist that got me reading, has passed away at the age of 84. His novels always paint a humerous and realistic look at life, love, and social norms. The first Kurt Vonnegut book I read was Welcome to the Monkey House, which is a collection of his short stories. Harrison Bergeron and Welcome to the Monkey House painted such a vivid, freightening picture of the future, and I was hooked ever since. He was a writer, a thinker, and a poet. Even in the introduction of Welcome to the Monkey House he said he smokes because it is the only legal way to slowly commit suicide. I love that line.

Player Piano, God Bless You Mr. Rosewayer, Slaughterhouse-Five, Cat's Cradle, Welcome to the Monkey House, Timequake and Breakfast of Champions area all great books that knocked me on my ass. Breakfast, Monkey House, and Slaughterhouse-Five in particular blew me away. His last novel, Timequake, was a great book about poor old Kilgore Trout getting sent back ten years from 2001 to 1991. He is forced to live out his life exactly as he did before, but is conscious of having traveled backwards in time. He has to deal with watching himself make all the same bad choices he made over his life, relive all the sadness, and enjoy all the good times.

"Be careful what you pretend to be because you are what you pretend to be."

"Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before."

"I really wonder what gives us the right to wreck this poor planet of ours."

"I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all the kinds of things you can't see from the center. "

"If people think nature is their friend, then they sure don't need an enemy."

"The universe is a big place, perhaps the biggest. "

"True terror is to wake up one morning and discover that your high school class is running the country."

"It is a very mixed blessing to be brought back from the dead."

Kurt Vonnegut heavily impacted my life & he will be loved and missed.

Long lost cousin!

So I did one of those things where they tell you what you will look like in five years, and damn! Just kidding, this is from some site that shows you your face & your 50% apeman face. Creeeeeepy.

Nice weekend, even if real busy & 40 degrees in my house. Stayed up 'till about 5:30 on friday night, and had to get up at the tender time of 7:30 for our training. Shit happens, yo. Training went well, if not really snowy. I slept all day afterwards & spent most of my Easter cleaning & catching up on sleep.

Sunny daze

"A spider monkey that escaped from a Mexico City zoo boarded a bus and attacked a passenger."

That's the kind of shit thats so cool, you can't make it up. Sunny daze are here again, it's been great here. Busy busy busy April's gonna suuuuuuck! I've been so busy, it made my jaw drop! (See above) But I can't complain too bad, at least its warming up a bit. Got a training session this weekend, a cleanup next weekend, an Earth Day festival the next weekend (which is cool, sweet hippy bands rockin) and a monitoring day the last weekend. Not to mention the blah Monday-Friday office work & a billion other activities happening on the weekends. (Gun show at the old grade school, seriously)

Still, enjoyin' this Sunshine Daydream.....
